Ecosystem-Based Management Planning is an adaptive approach to managing human activities in order to ensure the existence of a thriving human community as part of a healthy, fully functioning and sustainable ecosystem.

 

By integrating scientific knowledge of ecosystem relationships with the understanding of   the complex framework of sociopolitical values and goals we move toward the goal of protecting native ecosystem integrity over the long term.

 

Our belief is that by managing resources we can maintain ecosystem services and reduce the risk of losing species or degrading the integrity of marine and other ecosystems.
