Eco-social Dynamics (Ecosdyn) is a consulting company that helps governments, private companies and organizations, communities, and individuals identify and anticipate the ecological and socioeconomic impacts of a proposed development project, development or conservation programs, and government policies and plans.

 

Ecosdyn is based in the global South, and provides its clients integrated scientific and practical knowledge to help them identify the current and/or future consequences of an existing and/or proposed activity. Our primary goal is to provide our clients with an in-depth understanding of local ecological and socioeconomic processes regardless of its location worldwide. Our research and applied results allow clients to mitigate the social and ecological impacts of a proposed activity while enhancing their project’s success.

We differ from other socioeconomic and ecological consulting firms in that we provide our clients with an integrated socioecological perspective. Over the last decades, socioeconomic and environmental consulting has grown worldwide. While this is an important advancement, most consulting firms do not use a socioecological approach—or the understanding of human-environmental relationships from an integrated and holistic perspective.
